National Grid asked us to reimagine their careers site so that it positioned them as a leading UK employer in both the New Talent and Experienced hire space.
We identifed distinct personas which included apprentices, undergraduates, careers advisors and parents. Each with their own specific needs.
Balancing business goals with user needs was important to produce a great product. It became clear that our primary objective was simplification, both of the user journeys, interface and content presented.
Using our personas we performed a card sorting exercise to determine key pieces of information users needed and what content would entice them to apply.
We validated the information architecture using our primary user journeys, ensuring a happy path for all of the possible scenarios.
One feature we tested was a way for users to get to the most relevant page as quickly as possible, simplifying the user journey.
We wanted to the site to feel vibrant and full of energy, we achieved this through dynamic imagery and animation.
A number of iterations of the job search feature were tested to ensure the interface was as simple and intuitive to use as possible.
