Guardian News & Media were going through a big change with their main site, updating to a new design, platform and URL. They required a similar update to their careers site to attract candidates who believed in their values.
We identifed seven distinct personas each with their own specific needs.
One of the main problems identifed with the existing site was its visibilty, users often got lost and repeatedly failed to find opportunities available.
To produce a website that was unique to recruitment yet dovetailed perfectly with the beta site.
To differentiate Guardian News & Media by showcasing their unique values and philosophy.
To make sure everything was super easy to find.
We made a series of UX recommendations including clear signposting, limiting cross linking with 'The Guardian Jobs' and making it easier to filter jobs.
We also significantly reduced the page count from the previous site.
Sell a place of work, not just provide information. Reflect the business ethos, not just be about content.
We worked closely with their design team to ensure we interpreted the new design patterns correctly, whilst also creating something unique to careers.
